Big Instagram updates - AI updates and chatGPT finally has an app! and my POD IS BACK, YAY!

I've got loads of important updates for socials, AI info and a pep talk that'll take you through the rest of the month.

It seems like all anyone can talk about is AI these days… and for VERY good reason.

This is NOT a passing fad or another social app that will come and go. In all fields, from health care to finance to education to manufacturing to agriculture to space exploration to energy to science AI is being used for research and answers.

Honestly friends, look at that list above. The next decade (more/less?) will bring incredible change and IMHO it positively behooves you to learn how AI can serve you in both your business and personal endeavors.

I am prepping this week to talk about AI in the voice studio on The Full Voice Podcast and for a presentation I’m working on and here is my biggest advice…

KEEP AN OPEN MIND.

There are so many things you can do with AI to SAVE TIME while enhancing your creativity! AI can give you back time and perform tasks for you that are not in your wheelhouse of genius. Look below for a few different ideas about how I am using the various AI apps.

The ChatGPT upgrade for paying peeps is quite something and getting better every day. I am doing and creating and getting help with so many things like:

• social media posts and content

• blogging

• video and audio editing

• daily scheduling

• ready for this… a Summer mini-curriculum for my piano student OMG

• work on my book

• a presentation mock up

For all those with a pro account, you can integrate things like plugins (think Zapier OMG, emails, more) and it can now search the web so the whole “I can only search through 2021” IS GONE. What could YOU do with a little (or a lot!) extra help?

📲 BUT WAIT THE APP! I’m not even sure WHY I would Google anything… I got the app today and not once did I open a webpage… every time I had a question or needed some research done, I opened the app and asked… 🫣 I even checked a recipe on there and asked a math question for my son. The only things I opened on my phone was email, socials, messages and took a few phone calls. Oh friends… times they are a-changin’…

I don’t think Google is dead, not by a long shot. But as a small biz owner, you must be aware of HOW people are searching and WHERE. #justsayin

Last announcement before the stuffs… THE POD IS RETURNING NEXT WEEK! New graphics and thumbnails and… 🥁 🥁 🥁 VIDEO. Gulp… it’s scary and fun and hard and I’m PUSHING ON MYSELF. 😅

Moving on to slighty snarky tho’ts… I have to laugh when I hear all the big shot social peeps say “here’s a fresh way to get more followers, engage people, be social”. 🙄 That seemed to be the trend I saw/heard on socials this week.

No offense to all of them, but I’ve been saying that for over 5 years… that’s how have I done well and gained paying customers on social media with VERY little ad spend! I have always commented back AND actively spent time commenting on others posts.

To me, it feels natural… people are spending their time creating for you, the least you can do is say something nice, right?! Now, with video it really feels like people are talking to you!

And, it’s like a relaxed way of networking…you don’t even have to get dressed up! 😜 #winwin

So here’s a thought… if you are feeling tired of creating content (and who doesn’t get there?! I know I do!) why not take a content break and spend that time for just one week, commenting and uplifting others who are creating content?

✤ Share their song or art in your stories and tell people to follow them ✤

✤ Tell someone how great their post or blog is ✤

✤ Comment how much you learned or was inspired by their post ✤

I promise you it will make their day, give you a break and likely give you an added boost to your profile. Try it and let me know how it goes.

There is a LOT going on OMG… these are the highlights…

📺 YouTube is introducing 30-second un-skippable ads to connected TVs

🐦 Twitter Blue subscribers can now upload two hour videos (😨I love Twitter and I don’t know who’s gonna watch that but MAYBE!)

📸 Instagram you can use a GIF to comments - SO FUN GO DO IT!

📸 Instagram you can now add a ‘collaborator’ to your broadcast channel! 

📸Instagram stories scheduling is coming (but will it have all the kool features 🤷🏻‍♀️ like on the app?)

⏰ TikTok has added a new mental health awareness hub 

⏰ TikTok seems to be building on it business discovery, by prompting users to add a location so this *could be like “check in” and be very helpful for businesses and for us at kool events

😎📖 Facebook (look in your biz suite!) has announced some new editing tools for Reels including the ability to split a single clip into two and playback speed controls, as well as a new way to swap out one clip or another without changing the time/order of the clips/audio and a whole lot more. I post a couple of reels on clients profiles yesterday and even used the scheduling tool and it worked like a CHARM!
